Scope of this program

This training program provides a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS). Participants will learn the purpose and intent of each clause of the standard, along with practical approaches for implementation, compliance, performance monitoring, internal auditing, and continual improvement.

The program covers key topics including organizational context, leadership, worker participation, hazard identification, risk management, operational controls, emergency preparedness, performance evaluation, corrective actions, and management review. Upon completion, participants will have the knowledge required to support the effective implementation and maintenance of an ISO 45001-compliant OH&S Management System.

Objective of this program

After completing this training, you will be able to identify and interpret the key requirements of ISO 45001:2018. You will understand the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle and how it applies to OH&S. You will recognize the importance of leadership commitment and worker participation. You will be able to distinguish essential terms such as hazard, risk, incident, nonconformity, and corrective action. You will also understand the hierarchy of controls and what an organization must do to demonstrate conformity.

Target audience

This training program is designed for professionals at all organizational levels who are responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, auditing, or improving an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OH&S) in accordance with ISO 45001:2018.

Intended participants include:

• Top Management responsible for leadership, strategic direction, and organizational accountability for occupational health and safety.
• Managers and Supervisors involved in planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving workplace health and safety programs.
• Workers and Worker Representatives who participate in hazard identification, risk assessment, consultation, and continual improvement activities.
• Internal Auditors responsible for assessing the effectiveness and compliance of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
• Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Personnel involved in developing, managing, and maintaining safety programs and regulatory compliance.
• Consultants and Advisors supporting organizations with ISO 45001 implementation, auditing, certification readiness, and continual improvement initiatives.

No prior knowledge of ISO 45001 is required; however, individuals involved in occupational health and safety activities will benefit most from this program’s practical examples and implementation-focused approach.
